Organizaciones Indígenas y campesinas en Guatemala permanecen en alerta máxima a la audiencia llevada a cabo en el tribunal de apelaciones más alto de Guatemala, y su dictamen final, por las implicaciones que este precedente establecerá en el curso de emisión del pensamiento y libertad de expresión.

Several organizations in Guatemala have condemned the anti-democratic policies of President Jimmy Morales after the Public Prosecutor’s Office raided community radio station Radio Xyaab ’Tzuultaq’a, of El Estor, Izabal on September 26, 2019.
THE UNDERSIGNED ORGANIZATIONS condemn the raid on the facilities of Community Radio Xyaab ’Tz’ultaqa in Estor, Izabal, Guatemala, on September 26, 2019, by the Public Ministry and the National Civil Police, taking advantage of the state of siege.
LAS ORGANIZACIONES FIRMANTES repudiamos el allanamiento a las instalaciones de Radio Comunitaria Xyaab’ Tz’ultaqa, del Estor Izabal, por parte del Ministerio Publico y la Policía Nacional Civil, aprovechándose del estado de sitio.
“The classmates are excited! During the internship, it was noted that they were already on the air,” said Elena Brito, a representative of Women’s Association Q'imb'al and one of 16 participants of the speech and radio formats workshop that took place on September 17 and 18, 2019, in the organization's facilities, in Nebaj, Quiche, Guatemala. Women’s Association Q'imb'al is a Cultural Survival Community Media Grant Program partner.
